The IFRS Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the Group’s technical accounting agenda under IFRS and acting as the key point of contact for group audit matters. This role owns the preparation of technical position papers, complex corporate finance calculations, and the maintenance and governance of the Group Chart of Accounts (COA), accounting policies, and corporate service codes. The role ensures consistent, compliant accounting across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Group Audit & External Reporting
    • Serve as primary liaison for group audit technical accounting queries, coordinate audit deliverables and responses.
    • Lead resolution of audit technical issues and remediation of gaps.
    • Support preparation and review of Group financial statements and notes.
  • Technical Accounting (IFRS)
    • Draft and review IFRS technical position papers.
    • Monitor IFRS developments and lead implementation projects.
    • Advise on business combinations and complex transactions.
    • Provide guidance on impairment, fair value, ECL, leases, and share-based payments.
    • Establish documentation standards for estimates and judgements.
  • Corporate Finance Calculations & Modelling
    • Govern IFRS 16 lease models.
    • Review IFRS 9 ECL models and fair value/hedge accounting documentation.
    • Validate complex financial calculations.
  • Group COA, Accounting Policies & Corporate Service Codes
    • Maintain the Group Chart of Accounts and govern changes.
    • Maintain and update Group accounting policies.
    • Govern corporate service codes and ensure consistency.
    • Partner with ERP/Finance Systems teams to ensure data integrity.
  • Enablement, Controls & Continuous Improvement
    • Deliver IFRS training and publish technical guidance.
    • Strengthen controls over technical areas.
    • Standardize templates and automate processes.
    • Lead improvements for audit readiness and close timelines.

Key Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent required.
  • 6–10+ years in technical accounting/reporting roles.
  • Deep IFRS knowledge and experience drafting technical papers.
  • Strong modelling skills; experience with OneStream and Dynamics.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Technical depth and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong stakeholder management.
  • Governance mindset and analytical rigor.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
